The Missouri in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Skirmish Dallas, Missouri September 1861

Dennis, if you are hoping to find more details, through the help of your library you might track down a copy of the very rare "Three Years in The Service: A Record of the Doings of the 11th Reg. Missouri Vols.," written by D. McCall, published in 1864 in Springfield by Baker & Phillips. An even more intriguing possibility, however, is the Camp Fremont Register. It was published at Cape Girardeau in 1861 by the 11th Missouri Infantry. The Wisconsin Historical Society appears to have some issues on hand. If you pursue this line of research and discover more information, please let us know.
