Maurice is found aged 19 in the Perry County 1860 census in the household of Andrew Nieslen (a miller, from Bavaria married to Maurice's sister Marie Justine Denizet [B: 12 APR 1837 in Levier, Doubs, France D:19 AUG 1920 in Perry, MO] ) working as a farm laborer. His name is spelled Morrisse Denizet in that listing.
His service card at the MO SOS site is here:
This lists him as enlisting at Perryville MO Sept 17, 1861 and being killed in skirmish at Dallas MO Sept 24, 1861. A short service indeed.
Family is listed in Fr Callier's book of baptisms, marriages, and funerals of St. Mary's (Assumption) Church of Perryville.
Maurice had 2 older brothers that served in Civil War. Claude Jules Denizet served as Sarg't, Co A the 64h EMM and Constant Denizet served as a Corporal Co A of the 64th EMM and Sarg't Co A, 8th PEMM.
Maurice never married but his mother did apply for and received a pension Feb 1869 certificate #148198. (Index record is hard to read but believe its Feb 20 1869) It is found under Denizet, mother listed as Victoire J. Denizet
Hope it helps
