Re: Battle at Lexington in 1862?

I found John W Kinder in Missouri State Guard Patriot Army by Wayne Schnetzer.

Pge 400 A-K "John W. From Johnson Co. engaged at Lexington. Sources 22, 27"

22 - Missouri State Archives "Missouri Civil War: Index of Cards of Soldiers 1861-1865 War Between the States"
27 - More Forgotten Men: The Missouri State Guard - I have this one but did not find John W Kinder.

Sorry not a whole lot of help. This is as close as I can get to saying he was in the MSG. I agree with Bruce.
Look at his age and maybe if you look at the roster of co E and cross reference those names with the MSG. I am not familiar with Johnson county as far as their leanings and if groups joined together.
