Bob, you may already be aware of it, but the Cyrus Peterson Papers at the Missouri Historical Society in St. Louis will have information on the 8th PEMM. I was last there in 2004, but as I recall it may help to have a roster of names with you. Some of the SEMO vets provided Peterson with personal memoirs.
