I am researching Moses McCoy who under the command of Fernando Scott at Richfield Mo.(present day Missouri City) with Frank James, L. Easton (who was L. Easton?), Louis Vandiver (was he related to Susan Crawford Vandiver who died in the womens prison in Kansas City?), Louis Gregg(was he relation to William H. Gregg?) Moses McCoy and Mr.Churchill(who was Mr. Churchill?) with others attacked and killed Capt. Sessions, Lt. Graffenstein, and Pvt. Rapp.
Also Moses McCoy was reported to have been one of twelve men with Fernando Scott on May 19-21,1863 at Plattsburg, Missouri. The twelve men listed were Henry Cowherd, Joe Hart, Frank James, Fletch Taylor, L. Easton, James Hendrick, James Little, Frank Turner, William H. Gregg, John Jackson, and Louis Vandiver. An impressive list to say the least!
Was Moses McCoy in any other action? According to the wife of Moses McCoy (Lurena Lou McCoy) Moses was a Captain under Gen.Shelby in Jackmans regiment. I do not find any information to support this. Moses died in 1868. Family lure was he may have been shot by some of his inlaws (Alder)or was poisoned. Not for sure as to his fate. Moses McCoy's farm was only a couple of miles north of present day Missouri City. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Russ Norris
