My gr. gr. grandfather was Leon Benoit Alexandre Duclos. I believe he enlisted as Leon A. Duclos. I am told he enlisted in the Union army in Carondelet, Missouri. I have also been told he deserted in January 1863 while in Napoleon, Arkansas. Is there some place I can obtain a copy of his service record? I do know he was never seen or heard from again by any family member. He may have been in the 31st. infantry regiment but am not sure. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
