Re: John Hutchison, Mo.46 Inf.Co.I

Shirley I have a copy of John Hutchison family tree and it shows that your mother Dora was first married to a Walter W. Webster and that he died around 1964. According to this family tree chart your mother had a brother names Homer E. and sisters named Ethel, Dosia and Ruby Juett Hutchison. Does this info match with what you remember? If I understood correctly, you and my sister Colleen would play together. Colleen was born in 1935 and was 10 years older than I. On April 19, 1995 Colleen was killed in the Okla. City bombing. It was great to read about Butch the dog and my great grandfather walking to town. I was about 5 1/2 yrs. old when he died and have some memory of him. Your stories really help make his memory come alive. If you go to watersheds.org/history/ceremony you can view pics and info about the John Hutchison Memorial that was dedicated in March of 2001. His being Missouri's last civil war veteran has given him a special place in history. - Jim Chandler
