Thomas Jefferson Yager served in the 2nd Missouri Infantry Regiment, 1st Missouri Brigade, CSA. It's first commander was Colonel John Q. Burbridge. Company G, which was raised in Monroe, Ralls and Shelby counties, was initially commanded by Captain Thomas B. Wilson, who was dropped from the roll on November 24, 1863 and was replaced by Captain Thompson Alford.
Captain Thompson Alford was Thomas Yager's brother-in-law.
Thomas Jefferson Yager, my 3rd cousin three times removed, was killed on Mar 07, 1862 at the Battle of Elkhorn Tavern (Pea Ridge), Arkansas. Presumably, buried on the field...
