CPT Parke Killed Innocents Near Fayette 28Aug64

Forum,

I am convinced that over the last year or so I read in this forum that when Bill Anderson and Holtzclaw's combined band defeated Captain Joseph Parke and his 44 troopers of the 4th Cavalry MSM near Rocheport 28 August 1864 that Captain Parke and the few men with him shot up a group of about three farmers on the road south of Fayette. The innocent farmers were riding south along the road at the time that Parke and seven or eight fleeing the battle in their panic thought the farmers were more bushwhackers and killed one and wounded one or two others in passing. I attempted to search this forum's archives for this, but failed to find it. Would somebody please enlighten me! Also, I need a reference to cite for this episode of the fight, please.
