Shelby in Mexico (M. M. Parsons among them?)

Was Maj. Gen. Mosby M. Parsons among those who traveled with J. O. Shelby into Mexico? Rolle in his book "The Lost Cause: The Confederate Exodus to Mexico" states that Parsons was a member of Shelby's entourage. Rolle also states that Shelby's force left San Antonio on June 17, 1865 for Eagle Pass. Parsons signed his parole at Shreveport, LA on June 8, 1865. Would it have been possible for Parsons and the three other members of his party to reach San Antonio in 6-8 days? Gov. Trusten Polk another self-imposed exile
met up with Shelby at Eagle Pass on June 28.

Any info would be most appreciated.

Regards,

Bill
