Birth Certificates generally were not issued by the states until 1910 or after. Do you have a state of death? Both Texas and Missouri have death certificates online which list parents. Marriage records are also much more common than birth certificates prior to 1910 and often will list parents as well. I've been successful at using death and marriage records to prove lineage for UDC and DAR when no birth certificate exists.

I'll give it a try for you but its much easier if I know what the state of nativity, residence, and/or death was and an approximate date of birth (even just plus or minus 3-5 years is helpful).
