Thank you for the info. That was the impression I always had, but I thought I'd throw the question out to others more knowledgeable than I.

I just received the trial transcripts regarding the law suit filed by Col. R. H. Musser, on behalf of the families of Parsons, Standish, and Conrow against the Mexican government in 1868. Hopefully that will shed some light on Parsons trip to Monterey. I have quite a few items on Parsons murder, but hopefully this new material will shine more light on the "facts" in the case. If you have any material regarding Parsons' self-imposed exile to Mexico that is not in his papers at the Missouri Historical Society, that you wouldn't mind sharing, please let me know.
