Samuel on the record as Wood's Miaaouri Cavalry, Co. B..........also known as 14th Cavalry Battalion & Wood's Partisan Rangers..........wasn't organized until fall of 1863 with 8 companies.........so must have been with another unit, State Guard, or it's another Samuel Hughes.........you need to look up his record, State Historical society, Columbia or Jefferson City..........goo luck
