Re: Shelby in Mexico (M. M. Parsons among them?)

Kirby,

According to testimony from Sidney Jackman, Williams' horse came up lame and he stopped to exchange it at a local ranch. Apparently Williams convinced Parsons that he could catch up to them later. Parsons, Standish, Conrow and "Dutch Bill" continued on. The following evening Williams came into Jackman's camp expecting to find Parsons. Suspecting something was amiss, Jackman and Williams returned to the area where they thought Parsons was camped and could not find them. In speaking with a local woman, she stated that a party of four riders matching the description of Parsons and the others had been robbed and murdered by Mexican soldiers.

According to the suit filed in the US-Mexican Claims Commission Williams was not deposed.

If you will provide me with your email address I will send you a copy of the Sidney Jackman deposition.

Bill
