We've crossed Brushy Creek and have been to the Carson Hill cemetary where a lot of the Leach families and Crite families are buried. It's very "wooly" (woods and underbrush)around there, it's a wonder some of the boys didn't get away. My great-great grandfather Mauk on the other side of the family, lived in Wayne co a short way aways and he, my great-grandfather, and my grandfather all worked at the sawmill at Leeper. He was with the 186th Inf from Ohio. His Co was released from duty in Sept. 1865 at Nashville. He and his family ended up near Mill Spring/Leeper area probably fairly soon after. So one side of my family had Yankee leanings and the other side Southern leanings. My g-g-grandfather's company apparently didn't see too much fighting. They had one man killed and about 49 die from disease and sickenesses. Genealogy is so interesting if you can hold up during the "dry" periods. Gloria
