Pike Montgomery Thomson

I have been looking for records or verification of the CSA service of Pike (Piper) Montgomery Thomson. According to a biography, PM Thomson was born in KY in 1819 and moved to Saline County, Missouri. In 1861 he raised a company of Vol. and is said to have been under Sterling Price at Lexington (do not know if this was the 1st or 2nd battle there). He may have been a Quatermaster and held rank anywhere between a Lt. and Col. Mention is made of him being in the 6th Div. Missouri State Guard. He may have been captured at Sedalia "late in the war" while trying to raise troops for the State Guard. Lots of family lore, but I can find no records that go along with the story. Any help would be a God send.
