The Army Corps of Engineers runs the Old Greenville park and campground. It's pretty large and there were near a hundred camper trailers there the weekend of the rendezvous. There is nothing of the old town there except the old sidewalks. As you walk down the sidewalks the Corps has placed photographic guideposts in the place where you might be looking at the "barber shop" or various stores. Nice photographs and they help you imagine the town as it was. The dam projects, I suppose Lake Wappapello being the largest, made the town, already in a flood plain, perilous to live. Some of the old buildings were moved to the new location for Greenville, but most I think were razed. It's a fine site for a rendezvous when its not raining. The graveyard is laid out in cemetery fashion, many old traditional stones, one Union veteran with a GAR headstone. The five Confederate graves are laid side by side in a corner of the cemetery with flat stones marked "unknown confederate soldier."

Thank you for your reply.
