I am trying to find some biographical information about William Cleland, Sgt., Capt., Major, of the 11th Missouri Infantry (US). He was born in New York and was a clerk in St. Louis before the war. If anyone has any biographical information about him, please let me know. I lose him after the war. Also, I think there are 2 letters at the Missouri Archives, but I have been unable to locate them.
