I must respectfully disagree and take offense with your statement that the inscription on the Osceola monument is untruthful. There are writings which uphold the truthfulness of the inscriptaion--EVERY LINE of it--not just the first line, as you implied. Certainly I trust the words of surviving family members more than I would be inclined to trust the "official records" of the "Union Troops" under Lane, who undoubtedly were trying to conceal their mis-deeds. It is indeed unfortunate that our government would "cover-up" the truth of what occurred--but, it isn't like they haven't done it before, and many, many times since, the Osceola incident!
