Cyclone Club of St. Louis

Stumbled across this blog while working on John A Brownlee re Merchants Bank of St. Louis thought I'd pass it along for those of you who are St. Louis Baseball fans. Its a fascinating insight into antebellum baseball and the warm up for the split that occured in the state in 1861.

See http://thisgameofgames.blogspot.com/search/label/Cyclones for more.

I had no idea that Basil Duke of Morgan's raiders had played baseball in St. Louis... he also was a confederate sympathizer that replaced Brownlee as police commissioner appointed by the Provost Marshall no less. Just points out the confusion in the city during 1861.
