The only J. Graves in the 3rd Missouri Cavalry was Johanthan W., First Lieutenant of Company A.

George Martin

1st Lieutenant Jonathan W. Graves, age 32, born in Indiana, resident of Springfield, Green County, Missouri, enlisted with Company A, 3rd Missouri Cavalry July 4, 1862 at Des Arc, Arkansas, slightly wounded in the thigh at Hartville, Missouri January 11, 1863, paroled at Shreveport, Louisiana June 1865

See: Gullett, W.S. "Battle of Hartville, Mo." Confederate Veteran (1921): pp. 427-28.

The Texas Pension index records a Jonathan Wolf Graves, Young County, pension # A-17061. Suspect this is him.
