B.F. Carter of Clardy's

I have been going through the Clardy's roster whenever time allows and trying to gather bigraphical data on as many of these men as possible. B. F. Carter is found on the Clardy Roster and I believe him to be Benjamin Franklin Carter, the son of Zimri Carter, of Carter County, Missouri. I did not find a service record card for him on the Missouri SOS site, however, he is listed on the NPS site. Has anyone any information that will confirm or deny that this is who I believe it to be? If he is who I think he is then he's a Carter County cousin of the Chilton's. His uncle William Carter owned the large farm and mill at the forks of Logan Creek, Webb Creek and Black River in Reynolds County. Would this be the same "forks of Logan Creek" mentioned in the OR? His brother William Carter was an atty. lived in St. Francis County during the war and was married to a Washington County woman with the maiden name of McIlvaine. William Carter is a common name does anyone know if this one served and on which side? Might be a story here.
