Col Robert C. Wood's Regiment CSA

I a in pursuit of information concerning my great grandfather Agrippa S. Godwin who was in the Battle of Pilot Knob (Fort Davidson) on September 27, 1864. Sgt Godwin was reported to have been wounded during the battle and later died on 1 October 1864. However one document I have states (by Surgeon T. W Johnson) that some wounded were sent south (no location stated)under the escort of a Colonel Rain. A later document I have located listed Godwin on a roster of POW who surrendered under the command of Col Robert C. Wood at Shreveport, La. No family member knows were Godwin is buried only that he died on 1 October 1864. That is my desire, to locate Godwin's burial site. Any information on any of the fore mention names would greatly appreciated
