Re: Tim Reeves brother a Union officer?

You came to the same conclusion I did after I started looking into the family more. I can confirm William was living with Timothy in the 1850 census in Ripley County. He is listed as being 32 years old which is where the 1818 birth year comes from I suspect. Both are listed a natives of North Carolina. Terrell is likely spelled Terrill as that is the maiden name of their mother. FWIW. Gaston is a bit of a mystery to me at this stage. Lenoir is a new name to me tonight. I spied the William Reeves you mention when scanning the NPS S&S system late last night. He would be a bit long in the tooth but not unheard of and frankly the best fit from that work (I searched for Reeves, Union, and looked at likely units from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri. He popped up as one of the few non-commisioned officers with that last name.)

Eh so much for not digging into it ..... :>)
