Are you sure of his middle initial?

"D" Co. MO 5th State Guard Infantry discharged from service December 27, 1861 having served 3 months ? days, died March 4, 1863 at Camp Porter as member of Browns Battery Missouri Light Artillery, born in Tennessee [I do not find records for Brown's Battery]
