Mo. River Steamboats during the "Border War"

Hello to all--
I am seeking little "tid-bits" of information about incidents that happened on-board, or while at a landing, &c., concerning Missouri River steamboats during the period between 1854 to 1861; also information that mentions steamboats on the Missouri during the Second War for Independence (aka Civil War; War of the Rebellion!!!) I know many of you have access to material that may mention names of boats, crew, passengers, &c., during that time period.
At the moment, I am trying to prepare a program to present to groups like the Border War Society; SCV; etc. Although I have a LOT of information about steamboats, it would be very interesting to glean more about the people that traveled aboard the boats and first hand accounts (i.e., journals, diaries, &c.) of incidents during this time period.
Any help will be greatly appreciated...please include the source of the information for reference purposes.
Thanks to all...
