Re: Cochran's 6 month militia
The Bollinger family was an important part of this ara. One of the Pape girls married Daniel A. Bollinger upon arrival to America, they had 2 daughters and she died after birth of second child. Daniel ran the mill here until his death circa 1865. Our town was first named "Castor Crossing (by indians) then Bollinger's Mill then Zalma. Daniel was the son of Thebolt Bollinger and a kin of Fredrick Bollinger who had the other Bollinger Mill afer whom Bollinger county and Fedricktown was named. He also was related to Barbara Bollinger who was married to Urban Asherbraner who built the first mill here in 1800.there was a family of Wilkersons living here in the 1930-40? fathers name was Clyde with several children, sons names were Garland and Carmen with daughters also. maybe some of the Wilkerson's you mentioned? Your uncles book sounds interesting . Thanks for your reply. Linda
