Capt John Wallis, Wallace of Randolph County

Gay Mathis,
.
Thank you for identifying this Wallis, Wallace family of Randolph Co MO.
.
Interesting that Major J. Wallace lived 34 houses from his siblings, John Wallis and Melinda Wallis, in the 1870 Tarrant Co TX census. ..I have taken the liberty of listing your and Neill Block's Wallis family info between the asterisks below.
.
Questions:

1) Is the "Jno. Wallace b-1814 NC" of the 1860 Houston Co TX cen the same person as the "John Wallace 38 NC" enum w/ Susannah Wallace in the 1850 Randolph Co MO cen?

2) Is this the John Wallis who enlisted Dec 13, 1861 Whitesboro, Grayson Co TX and was elected captain that day? ..Did this John Wallis have previous military experience? ... It is probable that he was active in one of the ca. 400 Texas militia organizations by July 1861. I have about 240 Texas state militia listings representing 34 North Texas counties in my book, but I don't have Houston Co TX militia records, but I'll try to find them.
.
3) Is this the J. Wallis in the statement "J. Wallis' horse was wounded" in Lt. N.F. Carson's (of Bourland's Regt) account of the Oct 13, 1864 Battle of Elm Creek in Young Co TX?
