Michael,

There was several guns captured in the war with Mexico at the Battle of Sacramento several guns were taken. These guns from my research for the most part were taken to the Liberty arsenal. They were used during the Mo.Kan boarder war but I believe that a few of the guns were not in Liberty at this time.
Last year a article was put in a Kansas publication just on this very subject. It tells of one gun called Old sac and was blown up during a celebration at one time.If you remember there is a image of the Mo.Kan. boarder war of a artillery crew. These men are in Kans.and that gun is one of the a Old Sac(s).Also dig into histories of the MSG and The Mo.Brigade. You might be surprised what you find. I know I was. There I found some great information. The gun when fired gave a distinctive tone or ring. The Mo. soldiers when hearing it would scream at the top of there lungs "Ole Sacramento"!
