If memory serves, 136th US Colored was the last numbered black regiment in Union Service. Stationed entirely in Atlanta, the regiment's Colonel Was no less that Col. Frederick W. Benteen, late Colonel 10th Missouri Cavalry then Captain in 7th US Cavalry. Benteen purchased a good deal of land in what is now pretty much downtown Atlanta.
