That early in the war it's my guess they took the prisoners back to Fort Fremont at Ironton. Do you think he would have released them there or would they have gone to St. Louis and then been exchanged? The point of my question being...would there be any record? If it was Ben's son, he made it through this little ordeal, cause Ben didn't lose any of his boys till March of 1863.
