Actually in 1860 Dr. B Rives (b VA 1818 ) aka. Col. Benjamin A Rives MD and family are found in the 1860 Census in Dade Co Missouri. In 1850 he is in Lafayette Co MO. He was a slave owner of an 11 y/o black female in 1850.
