William P. Foster

William P. Foster (possibly called "Perry") died at the age of 30 on St. Patrick's Day, 17 March 1864, in Johnson County, Missouri. He was buried in Pemberton Cemetery.
Some background:
He had been raised in Johnson by his uncle, William Bone(s) from Tennessee. Most of his friends and neighbors were Guerrillas. In 1860, William had married, but James Bones lived next door to the Durretts. His older brother, Martin, a Mexican War Vet, was slave overseerer for Larkin Maddox in Jackson in 1850.
I find no military record for him for either side and no listing on any Guerrilla roster. That seems odd considering his age and location.
I would like to know why and how William P. Foster died. Was he killed by Bushwackers, Jayhawkers or Federals, or did he died a natural or accidental death? Was there a known skirmish on that day in Johnson County?
Can anyone help me?
