My ancestors in Howell County, Benoni Adams and his sons Edward and Revis Houston Adams, were Confederate irregulars who were shot at home in Pottersville on January 3, 1864. Edward and Benoni died that day, but Revis lived until June.
I'm now involved in an extended project to trace this Adams family back before Benoni, whose father was Laban and grandfather was Thomas, both of whom lived in Tennessee. I'm looking for a direct descendant in the male line who has done or would be willing to do a DNA test so we can sort out our Adamses from the hundreds of earlier candidates. My line, from Edward, has no direct-line males. Is anyone willing and able to assist?
