Good point that has Frank James said there was evil done on both sides. If a cop pulls two kids of each other frighting on a playground or two middle age guys dukeing it out in a bar and ask "who started it"? they will both say 'he did". I would agree that while Linclon did what he had to do preserve the Union not all the forces representing him in Mo preformed at the highest standards of professional service. I gather there were better units then others just depending on the individual quality of the officers and men.
