Jonathan Stamper Wallace joined the C.S.A. company A, Rosser's Regiment, Raine's Division, on June 16, 1861. At the time his company surrendered on June 8, 1865 at Shreveport, he was a 1st Lieutenant. Was awarded the Southern Cross of Honor by the Independence Missouri Chapter of the U.D.C. in 1906. His wife Nannie B. Wallace accepted the award since J. Stamper Wallace was no longer living at that time.
