Andrew Schofield has compiled great articles on the Western Civil War Theatre from the official War of the Rebelion records. In Battlefield Dispatch 220 a Capt of the EMM describes how his men used a train to chase and kill "Bushwackers" . Another article has an account of the 3rd Wis attacking a Partisan Ranger camp and wounding "the notorioious Pony Hill". That same article has an account of the 9th Kan fighting Native Americans in the Idaho Territory.
