Two things.
I remember where the slave quarters were at the Atterberry mule barns. Archie (Sparky) Basset lived in it last. It was just East of Madison. I can walk you to it.
Regarding the Black that murdered his masters wife. He didn't kill himself. He had help. He is buried close to the Swindell Cemetery. That cemetery is said to be haunted by several.
