Hi Mr. Ross,

I read the thread and i am not sure if the Confederates that Col Woodson were concerned about were regular Confederate troops i.e captured Confederate calvery such has Shelby or Marmaduke's or were they non uniforomed bushwackers. I know from the OR that Gen. Halleck and Gen. Blunt made it very clear that captured bushwackers were to be shot on sight. I don't know if captured Confederate Calvery were given who were uniformed were always given due deference when captured due to the bewildering array of the different USV units and the various Unionst paramilitary orginizations .
