Kirby. I am Dan Pue with a history with the Dorsey's of the Belmont estate, in MD. Dr. Michael Pue b. 1742 (Ireland to America) married Mary Dorsey, Caleb Dorsey's daughter. This caleb's Father was also a Caleb and his grandfather was Edward Darsey (D'Arcy). There were many Caleb Dorsey's of many generations. These were seven generations back from me. Dr. Arthur Pue married Sally Dorsey, He was the grandson of Dr. Michael Pue. Sally was the daughter of Thomas Beale Dorsey. OK, here is the Texas story. Dr. Michael Pue/Mary Dorsey to Dr. Arthur Pue/Rebecca Buchanan to Dr. Arthur Pue/Sally Dorsey to Edward Buchanon Pue/ Larua ann Langley (E.B. Pue and six brothers moved to Texas from Maryland) to Edward Buchanon Pue II/Henrietta Hornburg (Here is the Llano Co. Texas connection) Henrietta Hornburg Pue (My Great Grandmother is burried with her Father-Charles Hornburg and her child in the Smithwick Cemetry, in Llano County, Texas) There are five Dorsey's buried in the Smithwick cemetry as well. The came my grandfather Ivan Walter Pue/Lottie Schneider to Arthur Pue/Verda Mae Toepperweijn to Me (William Daniel Pue). I have a book from Bandera County Texas that has information about the Newcomers and Pue's. This may have been a stopping off point for the Dorsey's and Newcomer on there ultimate jorney to California. My Brother and I just recently visited the Smithwick Cemetry in Llano County and found these graves, but the markers are gone. There is a group managing the cemetry that have the records. They have posted the graves in a shelter by last name only. These Dorsey's, were the first one's we knew about coming to Texas.
