Good article. In a" History of Southern Mo and Northern Ark written by William Monks who served in Mo and Ark has a Colonel of the 16th Mo USV , Monks claims to of had a temporary agrement with a local CSA colonel to jointly fight brigands in Northern Ark but the agreement fell apart. I cant look up the exact page because the book doesn't have an index but I remember the passage. Monks also stated that after the CW Mo volunteers were sent to assist the govenor of Ark fight the KKK which tried to take over Ark. Peter Mackays book "The Uncivil War claims that the first Ark was able to drive out CSA irregulars into MO where the Union forces in Mo were able to dispatch them. I am not clear if after the CW the Unonists were driven out of Northern Ark. I will try to find that exact page number.

Thanks,
Leonard
