Great post thanks Mr. Morris! Hearst was indeed a lucky man in that the troops that capture him were a. not from Kansas or b. nor from a Mo unit especially one composed of German immigrants. For a "stupid man" Hearst put forth a good and articulate argument about why his life was spared. Great info and proff that sometimes the Union forces were fair and just .
