150th Anniversary of Civil War Remembered

Each year the Pony Express National Museum in St. Joseph, Missouri, sponsors a series of "lectures" designed to honor our heritage and history. Coming up in January and February, 2011, this year's TUESDAY NIGHT TALKS will deal with many aspects of the civil war. The programs are free (although they do "pass the hat"). Everyone is welcome! Refreshments are served prior to the program. A "question and answer" session usually follows the programs.

Following is the schedule for the coming series, which will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the start of the Civil War:

Of particular interest might be the program on Feb. 8--Mrs. Lehr, while researching burials at Mt. Mora Cemetery in St. Joseph, found diaries written by these two brothers (Confederate soldiers) who served in the same unit during the Civil War. She was able to obtain permission to publish the diaries and has two excellent books to her credit.
