According to William E. Connelley in his book, "Quantrill and the Border Wars", page 464, he states the James Little was the first of Quantrill's men to die in Kentucky. Then in Joanne Eiken & Donald Hale's book, "Branded As Rebels" page 270, they state he was killed near Hopkinsville, Kentucky in 1865 and is buried in Lobb Cemetery in Jackson County, MO. Hale also interviewed a cousin of Littles. John N. Edwards, in his book, "Noted Guerrillas" page 392, he states that Quantrill said good-bye to a mortally wounded James Litte, and on page 401 he states that Little had been killed. Then in Duncan Hansen's book, "A Reunion in Death: Gravesites of the Quantrill men and the James gang" page 164, he has a picture of a tombstone with James & John Little's names on it and states that Little died from a wound to the leg in the spring of 1865.

I also noticed your spelling of the name Little/Liddle. There were 3 Little's who rode with Quantrill James & John who were brothers and a Tom Little. Then there was Andrew J. Liddel who also rode with Quantrill and after the war became a lawyer.
