I have been looking for any information about this unit. My great,great grandfather remained in Newton Co. Mo. after his father and family went to Texas before the war began. He and many of the young men from the area went to Kansas and joined the 2nd Ks Vol Cav company k. I haven't been able to located any information about that unit. His brothers were in the Texas Cav and were from the Hill Co. Texas area.
Any information would be appreciated. I would guess there may be descendants of some of the members of the 2nd Ks Vol Cav in or around Newton Co. Mo.
