All of these places are the same fight, including Grand Prairie and Devalls Bluff of August 24th, 1864, that went on for five or six miles along the railroad. I know of the Withers' and B Warren Stone's death. I can't find anything on Evans are you sure he was confederate. There was a confusing mix of Mo units at this battle, like the 12th Mo Cav (Union) and the 12th Mo Cav (Confederate) along with others. With the re-organizing of Mo units in the winter of 63-64, what was a few months ago, now had a new name or designation. A soldier in the 6th Mo Cav (CS) a few months ago at this battle is now in the 11th Mo Cav (CS). Some folks have confused the 11th Mo Cav (CS) and the 12th MO Cav (CS) at this Battle. Now back to what I'm looking for, I have the grave site of two unknown confederate soldiers that were killed August 24th, 1864 at this battle and were buried by some of Shelby's men. Withers was one of Shelby's men, he was shot through the body on the 24th and died the next day the 25th. I know its a needle in a burning hay stack, but I had to look.
