Just for your information, the ticket taker and two other individuals you referenced were the event coordinators. They are mother Liz Sterling and her son Bill Sterling and daughter Betsy Champ. They should not have been surprised by the schedule of events you showed them as they were the people in charge of planning the events for the weekend. I feel they are hardly the professional event planners they claim to be.

I was there the whole day on Saturday, and part of the evening prior arranging some of the parking, and I drove the shuttle from the far parking lot run by the local FFA Chapter. (My wife is the FFA Advisor.) Therefore, I can substantiate that the Sterlings were the ones working the gate. There was obvious lack of communication from the event coordinators to the land owner who was simply providing a venue for the event. The coordinators' strange absence in the days leading up to the event created much confusion with the re-enactment participants as well as the property owner. As tension increased and adapting to the weather related conditions became more difficult, the Sunday schedule was canceled. Many of the re-enactment participants expressed interest to the landowner in trying another event in the summer of 2013.

I hope this poorly planned event won't sour you too much on our community and that you will give Sullivan County another chance in the future should such an effort be made again with a new group coordinating the event.

My apologies for your unsatisfactory experience.
