I have started a tribute blog dedicated to the men of the 2nd Kansas State Militia for their service against General Sterling Price and the Confederate Army in Oct.1864. (2ndksm.blogspot.com) The 2nd Kansas fought at the Battle of Byrom's Ford and sustained heavy losses against General Shelby's Division but held their ground late into the afternoon on 22 October and gave the Union Army time to re-group for the battle of Westport the following day.
