Re: CSA unit
In Response To: CSA unit ()

Mike, Zepheniah B. Robinson born in Tn about 1815 and was living in Osage Township, Laclede County, Mo in 1860. His occupation was a "farmer/ smith". There are conflicting records under his name and some are to read, but here's what I've got. He had a wife named Mary. Two confederate prison records don't list a unit for him, they only list him as a "citizen". He was captured at White River, Marion Co, Arkansas, March 5, 1863 and sent to Alton, Ill. On May 11, 1863 he was listed as confined to hard labor for one year. In another report of May 21, 1863 he is listed as confined to hard labor for three years. I don't if either one is right or if their both right. He may have caused a problem and they added on two years. Well it made no difference as he is listed dying July 3, 1863 of typhoid fever. One confuessing note maybe said Co D, 14th Regt. but no state listed. (Guessing here) With him being from Mo. you would think maybe the 14th Mo. I've never heard of a 14th Mo. (anything) being in Arkansas. The Marion Co. Arkansas part is hard to read, but I think that's what its saying.
