Grasping at straws here a bit but working on it...

There is a Richard Bowles/Boyles of Carondolet, known seccesionist that ends up in the AG reports in June and July of 1862. It appears the same fellow lands in trouble after being tagged into the 2nd EMM being "discharged and detained" Oct 10 1864. He would have been late forties in age, native of England.

Soundex match comes up with an 1860 census match for a Richard O Bayles in Randol Twsp Cape Co with wife aged 23 native of Tennessee. I've not found any other trace of him.

Bollinger County gives me nothing. There are several Bowles/Bowls/Boyles/Boyless family listings in Wayne Co that I've not waded through but no Richard or Dick in a cursory glance.
